What's the current hottest restaurant in your city? Have you tried it out yet?
My life is so boring that the hottest restaurant in my life is the new local Indian takeaway that's opened in Gipsy Hill!
It's called the Indian Dining Club and it's flippin' great. Yeah, so it may be a curry house, but it's a top-notch one at that, believe me!
Do you own all the albums of any particular musical artist or group? Who?
Submitted by dutterman.
I suppose a true completist is the one who buys all the live recordings and singles with unreleased tracks on them. I've never gone that far for any artist, but I do own all four albums by Tom McRae, who I think is great and very underrated (except by Tree).
I think I'm one short for REM, but it's one of the recent ones, which have all been pretty mediocre, and I think my other half might have all Madonna's albums.
Here's my favourite Tom McRae track from his debut album - perfect for slitting your wrists to! ;o)
What celebrity do you most often get told you resemble?

OK, I'm not saying people mistake me for these two on a daily basis, but I have been compared to them in the past... and believe me, I'm not complaining! (Better than Bob Monkhouse, that's all I can say)
If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Submitted by formance.
Tough call... I'm going to cheat a little (but then wouldn't we all?)
1) Pasta & pesto: the food of the (Roman) gods. Forget all that ambrosia nonsense!
2) Aubergine parmigiana: tomatoes, aubergine and parmesan cheese - heaven on a plate
3) Chicken with cashew nuts and egg fried rice: awesome!
What board game are you really good at? Really bad at?
I'm a mean board gamer. I hate losing and so I try unbelievably hard at everything! When I was a kid I was actually a chess champion for my age group across London and the South East, but I didn't carry it on.
Am I bad at any board games - usually the ones that require no skill whatsoever, so things like Frustration, Ludo, etc...
What are three things you want to learn, and three things you can teach others to do?
Submitted by bookishbiker.
this is a good question for a Thursday morning...
OK, want to learn:
1) To be a good dad - something no-one can teach and you spend a lifetime trying to master!
2) Speak Japanese - I can talk quite a few languages, but only European. Would love to be able to go Eastern!
3) Play the piano - really wish I'd learned more than the recorder at school!
Can teach:
1) Tie knots: I have no idea who would want to learn this, but I was a Scout when I was a kid and learned them all!
2) Speak French/German: I've been speaking them both for 25 years, so I have a little knowledge!
3) Solve cryptic crosswords: a totally useless talent, but if you can't crack them, you need someone to show you how!
What do you absolutely refuse to eat?
Aniseed and liquorice! Both vile - apart from my veggie years, I've never turned anything else down
Who are the last five people you called on your cell phone?
- My other half
- My older daughter
- An HR person, ahem
- My dad
- The local pizza delivery place!
What are your top 10 most-played songs currently?
So I've changed this question slightly to most played artists, because it would be one complete album, otherwise!
In the past 3 months, according to my Last.Fm profile, I've listened mostly to the following artists:
1) Cat Power - love the Greatest album
2) Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left is probably my favourite album of all-time
3) Candie Payne - I've talked about her before, and this proves how much I'm enjoying her new album
4) Regina Spektor - I'm really pleased last year's Begin To Hope is getting another push. It's great.
5) Kate Bush - since Aerial came out I've updated my CD collection with her stuff
6) Depeche Mode - you either love 'em or hate 'em. I love 'em!
7) REM - I own so many of their albums that I inevitably end up listening to a lot of their stuff
8) Rufus Wainwright - Release The Stars is a cracking album
9) Carole King - say no more
10=) Elton John - guilty pop pleasure. Tell me you don't feel better after listening to Philadelphia Freedom
10=) Feist - really getting into her recently. Not the most accessible of artists, but definitely worth a listen to
What's the weirdest baby name you've ever heard (or considered)?
We were sitting in bed one night when Ceri was around 4 months pregnant reading through baby name books, as you do, and came across the greatest name ever: Masterman
Yup, one of the books we had offered up the suggestion Masterman, which is funny enough on its own, but coupled with my surname it would have been even more entertaining.
Obviously you had to be there, but we couldn't stop laughing for ages after reading this name and it actually became our "name" for the bump, throughout Ceri's pregnancy.
Needless to say, now it's curious thinking about that time, because Masterman is a dim and distant memory
