Robbie Williams' legacy?

'Angels' is always going to be his calling card. Let's face it, he's a charismatic fella, but that song has carried a lot of average output. Before it, his legacy was a George Michael cover and some misguided Oasis-lite numbers.
Ouch - thats' even more cutting than my summary, Dale! He is, admittedly, a good live performer. He was easily the best thing about Live 8 and Chris Heath's biography of him, Feel, is really compelling, if only to discover just exactly how screwed up the guy is.

All this from some scrawny geezer from Stoke, eh?!

Out here in Australia Rudebox has done really well and we totally get all his carry on without thinking he is a tosser. We had a lot of big acts tour around the same time as him and yet RW was by far the most talked about entertainer. People are still actively talking about his Brisbane concerts and it is now a month after he left the country.

I actually think the concerts and fact he has had 2 albums out in quick succession here have raised his profile. I for one went and bought a book about him, joined a bloody fan-site (what the?) and bought a couple of old concert dvd's so I could do a comparison. And I am not the only one I know who has done the same thing. That concert was pure entertainment for me (and I went to quite a few concerts last year - all generally with close to stage spots) and it has actually made me think of him in a very different way.

Like an artist he is going to get bored with doing the same old. He is simply exploring different styles and some fans will get in to it and some wont. Get the lyrics for Rudebox (the song, not album) and tell me they are not a clever use of slang....Enigma
