QotD: Childhood Frights

What were you afraid of as a child that seems silly to you now?

Now that's a question and a half... I guess I was scared by the Daleks, which does actually seem silly having watched the most recent series of Dr Who. I genuinely used to hide behind the sofa - oh how silly I feel looking back.
